Clap ! ... Clap !

One evening, Lion is ready to go to bed. He reads his favorite bedtime story (literally: evening story) and sings his favorite lullaby. He turns on his night light. Suddenly, he hears a noise...
Tap! ... Tap!

« Quel est ce bruit ? », murmure-t-il.
Clap !... Clap !
« Le bruit… Il vient de derrière la fenêtre ! »

"What is that noise?" he whispers.
Tap! ... Tap!
"The noise... it is coming from outside the window!" (literally: "it comes from behind the window")

Clap, clap ! Clap !

He gets (literally: goes) out of his bed. He grabs a baseball bat and tiptoes toward the window. (literally: "goes towards the window on the tip of his feet")
Tap, tap! Tap!

« C’est un monstre ! » pense Lion.
CLAP ! ... CLAP ! ... Clap, clap – CLAP !

"It's a monster!" thinks Lion. He grabs his bicycle helmet and puts it on his head to protect himself. He hears the noise again.
TAP! ... TAP! ... Tap, tap — TAP!

Lion panique. »

Clap, Clap !
CLAP, CLAP – CLAP !
CLAP – CLAP – CLAP… CLAP !

Lion panics. "It's getting closer! It makes a lot of noise! It is surely the BIGGEST and the SCARIEST monster in the world!"
Tap, tap!
TAP, TAP — TAP!
TAP — TAP — TAP ... TAP!

« AAAH !

"EEEK!" He runs away from the window (literally: goes away from the window running) and hides under the bed. He pulls a blanket over his head. He holds the baseball bat tight in his hands, and...

CLAP, CLAP – CLAP !

« Salut Lion ! Tu es là-dedans ? » dit la grenouille.

TAP, TAP — TAP! A tiny frog jumps onto the window sill. The frog wears a tutu and tap shoes. She dances a little dance.

"Hi, Lion! Are you in there?" says the frog.

Through the window, she looks into the room and sees Lion hidden under the bed. Lion is wrapped in a blanket... with a bicycle helmet on his head... and a baseball bat in his hands. He looks ridiculous.

(And in truth, he feels ridiculous too.)

"Euh… »

Translate?

"Ummm... I have some new dance steps to show you," says the frog. "But you look busy. I'll come back later. See ya!"

Clappity-clap-clap ... CLAP CLAP !

The frog jumps down from the window, and happily dances away.
Tappity-tap-tap ... TAP TAP!
