Il giorno dopo, Raperonzolo pulì la sua stanza e si intrecciò i capelli. A ora di pranzo arrivò la strega. Portò un panino a Raperonzolo e le mostrò come prepare delle medicine per curare il mal di testa.
The next day, Rapunzel cleaned her room and braided her hair. The witch arrived at lunch time. She brought a sandwich for Rapunzel and showed her how to prepare medicines to cure headaches.
Ma, proprio mentre se ne stava andando, la strega notò la corda di Cristian. “Di chi è questa corda? Dove l’hai presa? Vuoi scappare?”
But just as she was leaving, the witch noticed Cristian's rope.
"Whose rope is this? Where did you get it? Do you want to escape?"
Raperonzolo provò a spiegare, ma la strega era troppo arrabbiata.
“Io ti amo come una figlia. Mi odi così tanto che vuoi lasciarmi?”
“C’era un uomo…” disse Raperonzolo.
Rapunzel tried to explain, but the witch was too angry.
"I love you like a daughter. Do you hate me so much that you want to leave me?"
"There was a man..." Rapunzel said.
“Un uomo?” gridò la strega. “Va bene! Vattene con lui! Vai!” La strega era in lacrime. “Va e vivi per sempre felice e contenta con questo… uomo!”
"A MAN?" the witch cried. "All right! Go with him! Go!" The witch was in tears. "Go and live happily ever after (happy and content) with this ... man!"
La strega gettò un po’ di polvere magica sul pavimento e Raperonzolo cadde immediatamente addormentata.
The witch threw some magic powder on the floor and Rapunzel immediately fell asleep.
Quando si svegliò si accorse che non si trovava più dentro la torre. Era distesa sotto a un albero. Qualcuno le aveva tagliato i capelli.
Raperonzolo pianse per dieci minuti, poi si alzò e decise di andare a cercare la torre.
When she woke up, she realized that she was no longer in the tower. She was lying under a tree. Someone had cut her hair.
Rapunzel cried for ten minutes, then got up and decided to go look for the tower.
Nel frattempo, Cristian ritornò alla torre come aveva promesso.
“Raperonzolo, Raperonzolo, fa’ scendere i tuoi capelli!” gridò da sotto la finestra. E i capelli gli caddero in faccia.
Meanwhile, Cristian returned to the tower as he had promised.
"Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let your hair fall!" he shouted from below the window. And her hair fell in (front of) his face.
Ma come di certo saprete… Raperonzolo non si trovava dentro la torre. Era la strega!
Quando Cristian arrivò in cima alla torre, la strega lo tirò dentro.
But as you probably know, Rapunzel wasn't inside the tower. It was the witch!
When Cristian reached the top of the tower, the witch pulled him inside.
“E quindi sei tu l’uomo che vuole prendersi la mia Raperonzolo!” disse. “Va bene. Va e vivete insieme per sempre felici e contenti!”
"So you are the man who wants to take my Rapunzel!" she said.
"Very well. Go and live happily ever after together!
La strega gli soffiò in faccia una manciata di polvere. E, in un attimo, Cristian divenne cieco.
The witch blew a handful of dust into his face. And, in an instant, Cristian became blind.
