Am nächsten Tag machte Rapunzel ihr Zimmer sauber, und aus ihren Haaren machte sie wieder einen Zopf. Zur Mittagszeit kam die Hexe. Sie brachte Rapunzel ein Sandwich und zeigte ihr, wie man Medizin gegen Kopfweh macht.
The next day, Rapunzel cleaned her room and braided (made a braid out of) her hair. At lunchtime the witch came. She brought Rapunzel a sandwich and showed her how to make medicine for headaches.
Aber als sie wieder gehen wollte, sah sie Justins Seil auf dem Boden liegen.
„Wessen Seil ist das? Wo hast du es her? Willst du fortlaufen?”
But when she wanted to leave, she saw Justin's rope lying on the ground.
"Whose rope is that? Where did you get it from? Do you want to run away?"
Rapunzel versuchte zu erklären, aber die Hexe war zu aufgebracht.
„Ich liebe dich wie meine Tochter. Hasst du mich wirklich so sehr, dass du fortlaufen willst?
„Da war ein Mann…”, sagte Rapunzel.
Rapunzel tried to explain, but the witch was too upset.
"I love you like my daughter! Do you really hate me so much that you want to run away?"
"There was a man..." Rapunzel said.
„EIN MANN?”, schrie die Hexe. „Na schön! Geh doch zu ihm! Geh! Geh und lebe glücklich bis ans Ende aller Tage mit diesem… Mann!”
Die Hexe schmiss ein magisches Pulver auf den Boden, und Rapunzel schlief sofort ein.
"A MAN?" the witch shouted. "Fine! Go to him! Go! Go and live happily ever after with this... man!"
The witch threw a magic powder on the floor and Rapunzel fell asleep immediately.
Als sie aufwachte, war sie nicht mehr im Turm. Sie lag unter einem Baum im Wald. Ihre langen Haare waren abgeschnitten! Rapunzel weinte zehn Minuten lang und stand dann auf, um nach dem Turm zu suchen.
When she woke up, she was no longer in the tower. She lay under a tree in the forest. Her long hair was cut off! Rapunzel wept for ten minutes and then got up to look for the tower.
Inzwischen war Justin wie versprochen zum Turm zurückgekommen.
„Rapunzel, Rapunzel, lass dein Haar herunter!”, rief er von unten. Und der Zopf fiel vor sein Gesicht.
Meanwhile, Justin had come back to the tower as promised.
"Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your hair!" he shouted from below. And the braid fell in front of his face.
Aber wie ihr sicherlich erratet habt, war oben im Turm nicht Rapunzel. Es war die Hexe!
Als Justin oben ankam, zog ihn die Hexe durch das Fenster hinein.
But as you've probably guessed, Rapunzel was not up in the tower. It was the witch!
When Justin reached the top, the witch pulled him in through the window.
„Du bist also der Mann, der mir Rapunzel wegnehmen möchte!”, rief sie. „Soso. Na schön. Geht und lebt glücklich zusammen bis ans Ende aller Tage!”
"So you're the man who wants to take Rapunzel away from me!" she shouted. "Well, all right. Go and live happily ever together!"
Da pustete die Hexe eine Handvoll Pulver in sein Gesicht. Und auf einmal war Justin blind.
The witch blew a handful of powder into his face. And suddenly Justin was blind.
